Abstract

Nije novost da je u današnje vrijeme gotovo nemoguće funkcionirati bez interneta i raznih oblika tehnologije koji nam često olakšavaju svakodnevicu, no isto tako preuzimaju i ulogu glavnog načina ispunjavanja slobodnog vremena. Danas skoro da ne možemo zamisliti život bez svojih mobitela, tableta, osobnih računala i drugih uređaja pomoću kojih obavljamo razne vrlo bitne poslove, no također „ubijamo“ dosadu i besciljno lutamo bespućima interneta. Većina ljudi ima granice kada je u pitanju vrijeme provedeno na internetu, međutim postoji i dio onih koji su u stanju većinu dana provesti pretražujući internetske stranice, igrajući online igrice ili jednostavno provodeći vrijeme na raznim društvenim mrežama. U ovu drugu skupinu ljudi ubrajaju se većinom mlađe generacije, posebno srednjoškolci i studenti. Upravo zbog toga, ovaj rad bavit će se ovisnošću o internetu kod mladih osoba. Cilj ovog rada je pobliže opisati ovisnost o internetu koja se u novije vrijeme sve češće pojavljuje kod mladih, te objasniti neke njene oblike. Ova tema bit će razrađena kroz terminologiju i definiciju ovisnosti o internetu, prevalenciju pojavnosti u Hrvatskoj, simptome i dijagnozu same ovisnosti, zaštitne i rizične čimbenike, posljedice ovisnosti o internetu, a kroz rad će biti obrađeni i najčešći oblici ove nove ovisnosti. Također, jedna od bitnih točaka je prevencija, odnosno pitanje kako sprječavati ovisnost o internetu. U zaključku će biti sažeti važni nalazi koji su bili prikazani u radu.

Abstract (english)

It is not a news that nowadays it is almost impossible to function without Internet and different forms of technology that often makes it easier to live, but is also taking main role in the ways of fulfilling our free time. Today, we practically can't imagine lives without our cell phones, tablets, PCs and other devices that help us with various important things, but also entertain us when we are bored. We are using them for aimlessly wandering the vastness of the Internet, too. Most people have a limit when they are spending their time surfing the Internet, but there is a part of those who are able to spend most of the day searching web sites, playing online games or just spending time on different social networks. Second group of people mostly include youth, especially high school and college students. For this reason, this paper will address youth Internet addiction. The aim of this paper is to closely describe addiction which is increasingly appearing among youth, and to explain some of its forms. This topic will be elaborated through terminology and definition of Internet addiction, its prevalence in Croatia, symptoms and diagnosis, protective and risk factors, the consequences of Internet addiction, and through paper it will be talked
over the most common forms of this new addiction. Also, one of the very important topics is how to prevent Internet addiction. Important thoughts will be summed up in conclusion.
