Abstract

Rad se bavi s doživljajima socijalne podrške majki sa tjelesnim invaliditetom. U prvom dijelu rad objašnjava teorijske dijelove koji se protežu u nastavku rada, poput pojmova invaliditeta, socijalne mreže, podrške i roditeljstva. U nastavku rada baviti ćemo se kvalitativnim istraživanjem koje govori o iskustvima sa socijalnom podrškom majki s tjelesnim invaliditetom, te o izazovima vezanima sa socijalnom podrškom majki s tjelesnim invaliditetom. Istraživanje je pokazalo da majkama najčešće socijalnu podršku pruža suprug, ali da im ne nedostaje niti podrška ostalih članova obitelji. Unatoč zadovoljavajućoj podršci unutar obitelji, majke se susreću s brojnim izazovima, poput needuciranosti i predrasudama okoline i nedostatkom financijskih sredstava. Iako se susreću sa brojnim barijerama, majke su u istraživanju dokazale da su itekako sposobne biti neovisne i samostalne u ulozi majke, pa često i ne traže pomoć drugih kako se ne bi posumnjalo u njihove kapacitete.

Abstract (english)

The paper deals with the experiences of social support to mothers with physical disabilities. The first part explains the theoretical parts that extend below the work, such as the notions of disability, social networks, support and parenting. The remainder of this paper we shall deal with the qualitative research that talks about experiences with social support of mothers with physical disabilities, as well as the challenges related to social support of mothers with disabilities. Research has shown that mothers usually social support provides husband, but that they are not missing either support other family members. Despite the satisfactory support of the family, mothers are faced with many challenges, such as lack of education and prejudices of the environment and the lack of financial resources. Although they face many barriers, the mothers in the study proved to be more than capable to be independent and autonomous in the role of mothers, but often do not seek the help of others so as not to cast doubt in their capacities.
