Abstract

Cilj ovog rada bio je prikaz psihosocijalnih aspekata invaliditeta. Osobe s invaliditetom uključuju one koji imaju trajna tjelesna, mentalna, intelektualna i osjetilna oštećenja koja mogu utjecati na njihovo učinkovito sudjelovanje u društvu na ravnopravnoj osnovi s drugima. Osobe s invaliditetom su kao posebna društvena kategorija često u prošlosti bili marginalizirani i stigmatizirani zbog svojih nedostataka, pa su u tom slučaju u proteklim godinama nastajali dokumenti koji štite status takvih osoba u društvu. Od najveće važnosti za društvo je psihosocijalno stanje invalida te njihovo samopoimanje. Emocionalne i psihičke reakcije osobe s invaliditetom uvelike ovise o osobinama i ličnosti samog pojedinca koji prolazi kroz određene faze mirenja sa gubitkom. Pritom bi društvo trebalo izaći u susret takvim pojedincima tako što će im ponuditi razumijevanje i empatiju. Djeca s teškoćama u razvoju su još osjetljivija skupina budući da se tek nalaze u procesu psihosocijalnog i emotivnog razvoja. Prema tome, trebalo bi ih što više integrirati u zajednicu s vršnjacima i izbjegavati smještanje u posebne ustanove gdje takva djeca neće imati kontakt s okolinom potreban za daljnji razvoj.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to see the psychosocial aspects of disability. Persons with disabilities include those who have permanent physical, mental, intellectual and sensory impairments which may affect their effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. Disabled people are considered as a separate social category who has been marginalized and stigmatized in the past because of their shortcomings, but in this case in recent years emerged documents that protect the status of such persons in society. Of special importance for the socitey is psychosocial situation of the disabled person and their self-concept. The emotional and psychological reactions of disabled are largely dependent on the characteristics and personality of the individual who goes through certain stages of coming to terms with the loss. The society should be to meet such individuals by offering them an understanding and empathy. Children with disabilities are more sensitive group as they are in the process of psychosocial and emotional development. Therefore, they should be more integrated into the community with their peers and avoid placement in special institutions where these children will not have contact with the environment needed for their further development.
