Abstract

Odnos između braće i sestara često je najdugotrajniji međuljudski odnos. U slučaju kada jedno od braće ili sestara ima teškoće u razvoju, taj odnos je specifičan i može imati neke povoljne, ali i nepovoljne značajke. Od povoljnih značajki se ističu uzajamna usmjerenost psiholoških resursa obitelji i slika o sebi, prilagodba ponašanja i socijalna kompetencija braće i sestara djece s teškoćama. Od nepovoljnih značajki se ističu prerano sazrijevanje i izloženost prevelikim zadaćama i očekivanjima. Na kvalitetu međusobnog odnosa braće i sestara s i bez teškoća u razvoju utječu stavovi, način prilagodbe i reakcije obitelji na teškoće u razvoju njezinog člana. Prema rezultatima ovog istraživanja braća/sestre s i bez teškoća u razvoju međusobno su si podrška, surađuju, povjeravaju se jedni drugima, zabavljaju se, ali nekad dolaze i u konflikte što nije neuobičajeno u bilo kojem međuljudskom odnosu. Međutim, ponekad ti konflikti mogu biti izraženiji u obiteljima s djecom s teškoćama u razvoju zbog povećanog stresa u obitelji. Upravo zbog toga je potrebna intervencija socijalnih radnika u pružanju podrške, socijalnih usluga, informacija, savjetovanja i osnaživanja kako bi se spriječili/smanjili učinci njegovateljskog stresa, socijalne stigmatizacije, diskriminacije i socijalne isključenosti osoba s teškoćama u razvoju i članova njihovih obitelji.

Abstract (english)

The relation between siblings is often the lenghtiest interpersonal relationship. In cases where one of the siblings has disabilities, that relationship becomes specific and can contain some good, as well as bad features. Some of the major unfavorable features are premature development and exposure to overwhelming tasks and expectations. The quality of interpersonal relations between siblings (with or without disabilities) is dictated by attitudes, ways of adjusting and reactions of the family to the disabilities of their member. According to this research, done by an online questionnaire, siblings with or without disabilites are often supportive of each other, they cooperate, trust each other, have fun with occasional conflicts which is typical for any interpersonal relation. However, sometimes those conflicts can be emphasized in families with children with disabilities because of the increased stress in the family. This is exactly why the interference of social workers is much needed in showing support, doing social favours, as well as in informing, advising and strenghtening those relations, to prevent or lessen the effects of the caregiver's stress, social stigmatization, discrimination and social exclusion of people with disabilities, and the members of their families.
