Abstract

U ovom radu riječ je o osobama s invaliditetom i njihovoj seksualnosti. Prema svoj obrađenoj literaturi može se dobiti uvid u to kako osobe sa invaliditetom nalaze na različite prepreke prilikom ostvarivanja intimnih veza zbog nedovoljne edukacije njih samih i njihove okoline. Nadalje dobiven je uvid u to da obitelji i okolina sprečavaju osobe s invaliditetom u ostvarivanju intimnih veza te ih nerijetko smatraju aseksualnima iako je to prema različitim provedenim istraživanjima netočno. Naime istraživanja govore kako osobe s invaliditetom imaju iste potrebe i želje kao i zdrave osobe ali da se ponekad srame izraziti te osjećaje radi straha od reakcije okoline. Nadalje, uočeno je kako su stavovi okoline prema osobama s invaliditetom takvi da ne podržavaju njihovu seksualnost, čak niti stručne osobe. Prema svemu tome može se zaključiti kako je potrebna edukacija o pitanju seksualnosti prema osobama s invaliditetom ali i prema njihovima roditeljima kako bi mogli prihvatiti činjenicu da njihova djeca, bez obzira na dob, nisu aseksualna. Također potrebno je educirati i stručno osoblje kako bi pomogle osobama s invaliditetom da prihvate svoju seksualnost ukoliko su i same nesigurno u pitanje normalnosti iste.

Abstract (english)

This paper is about people with disabilities and their sexuality. According to the previously read materials, people with disabilities are faced with different obstacles during intimate relationships, due to their insufficient education and their environment. Furthermore, this paper shows that families and the environment of the people with disabilities keep them from achieving intimate relationships. They often perceive them as asexual, although that is incorrect, according to different surveys which were carried out. In fact, these surveys claim that people with disabilities have the same needs and desires as healthy people, but they are sometimes ashamed to express those feelings fearing the reaction of their environment. Moreover, it has been noted that the attitudes of the environment towards people with disabilities and their sexuality are negative, even from the aspect of the experts in the field. According to that, it can be concluded that education concerning the sexuality of the people with disabilities is necessary not only for their benefit but for the benefit of their parents as well, so they could be able to accept the fact that their kids are not asexual, regardless of their age. It is also necessary to educate the experts so they can be able to help people with disabilities to accept their sexuality if they had any insecurities regarding the issue in the first place.
