Abstract

Dijagnostički i statistički priručnik za duševne poremećaje (DSM-5) definira poremećaj iz spektra autizma (PSA) kao neurorazvojni poremećaj kojeg određuju deficiti u socijalnoj komunikaciji i socijalnoj interakciji te ograničeni, ponavljajući obrasci ponašanja, interesa i aktivnosti (American Psychiatric Association, 2013.). Iako se PSA najčešće dijagnosticira oko 4. godine života djeteta (Centar za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti, 2012.), ipak se uočava trend sve ranijeg prepoznavanja znakova koji upućuju na PSA, a samim time ističe se i važnost rane intervencije i njezinog utjecaja na razvoj komunikacije, jezika i govora. Osim važnosti same rane intervencije, posebno se naglašava i važnost djetetovih roditelja, koji u suradnji sa stručnjacima različitog profila mogu uvelike doprinijeti budućem razvoju djeteta s poremećajem iz spektra autizma. Ovim će se radom nastojati prikazati značajke poremećaja iz spektra autizma, njegov utjecaj na dijete, ali i na obitelj, kao sustava podrške i pomoći, a prikazat će se i važnost rane intervencije adekvatnog tima stručnjaka, sa svrhom što kvalitetnijeg daljnjeg razvoja i napretka djeteta s poremećajem iz spektra autizma.

Abstract (english)

Diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (DSM-5) defines autism spectrum disorder (ASD) as a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by deficit in social communication and social interaction as well as limited, repetitive patterns of behavior, interests and activities (American Psychiatric Association, 2013.). Although ASD is most often diagnosed around the age of 4 (Center for disease control and prevention, 2012.), there is still a trend towards earlier recognition of signs that point to ASD and thus the importance of early intervention and its impact on the development of communication, language, and speech. In addition to the importance of early intervention itself, the importance of the child’s parents, who in cooperation with experts of different profiles, can greatly contribute to the future development of a child with an autism spectrum disorder, is also emphasized. This paper will try to show the features of autism spectrum disorder, its impact on the child, but also on the family as a system of support and help and the importance of early intervention by an adequate team of experts, with the aim for the best possible further development and progress of the child with this disorder.
