Abstract

U ovom radu fokus je bio na proučavanju odnosa između socijalne isključenosti i fizičke boli. Socijalna isključenost, isto kao fizička ozljeda dovodi do osjećaja boli. Ipak, uzrok socijalne boli proizlazi iz socijalnih situacija – npr. smrti bliske osobe ili raskida prijateljstva. Istraživački nalazi uputili su da se preklapanje fizičke i socijalne boli temelji se na neurološkoj povezanosti, pri čemu fizička i socijalna bol aktiviraju iste regije mozga pri bolnom podražaju. Bol je osoban doživljaj, a tvore ga senzorna, emocionalno-motivacijska i kognitivno-evaluacijska komponenta. Na doživljaj boli djeluju i razni psihološki čimbenici i socijalni kontekst, a istraživanja su utvrdila značajnu povezanost između socijalne podrške i doživljaja boli. Multidisciplinarnost u pristupu i primjena kognitivno-bihevioralne terapije pokazali su se kao efikasni u nošenju s boli, a posebice kod kroničnih bolesnika.

Abstract (english)

In this paper, we focused on the relationship between social exclusion and physical pain. Social exclusion, just like physical injury leads to the painful feeling, only the cause of social pain comes from social situations – e.g. the death of a loved one or the friendship breakup. Research findings suggest that the overlap of physical and social pain is based on a neurological connection. Both social and physical painful stimuli leads to the activity in the same brain regions. Pain is a personal experience that includes sensory, affective-motivational and cognitive-evaluative component. The pain experience is influenced by various psychological factors and the social context. Research findings report a significant connection between social support and a pain experience. Multidisciplinary approach and cognitive-behavioral therapy was found to be effective in coping with pain, especially regarding chronic patients.
