Abstract

Palijativna skrb pristup je kojim se osobama oboljelim od neizlječivih bolesti i članovima njihovih obitelji pokušava osigurati najveća moguća kvaliteta života. Palijativna skrb odavno se ne svodi isključivo na medicinske postupke, već je mnogo pažnje usmjereno psihosocijalnoj i duhovnoj podršci bolesniku i članovima njegove obitelji. U pružanju skrbi značajna je uloga interdisciplinarnog tima sačinjenog od stručnjaka različitih profesionalnih usmjerenja. Podrška bolesniku nužna je od trenutka suočavanja s dijagnozom, za vrijeme teških fizičkih, psihičkih i emocionalnih kriza sve do trenutka umiranja. U ovom radu cilj je istražiti različite aspekte podrške bolesniku, a veliki fokus je i na psihosocijalnoj i duhovnoj podršci obitelji, posebice u procesu tugovanja nakon gubitka bliskog člana obitelji. Potkrijepljeno rezultatima istraživanja, primijećena je velika potreba za psihosocijalnom i duhovnom podrškom bolesnicima, kao i obitelji.

Abstract (english)

Palliative care is approach that provides the best possible life quality to the terminally ill patients and their families. For a pretty long time, palliative care terminology is not just about medical procedures. It's also about psyhosocial and spiritual support to the patient, but family members as well. While providing care and support, interdiciplinary team of experts, from a different proffesional and scientific fields, has the most important role. Supporting a patient is necessary since the first diagnosis is confronted, during the extremely hard physical, psyhological and emotional crisis, untill the time od death. In this thesis, main goal is to research different aspects and approaches in supporting patients, and focus will be also on psyhosocial and spiritual backup of the family, especially in time of grief after their loss. Supported by recent research results, it was noticed that both, patients and families, have great need for psyhosocial and spiritual backup.
