Abstract

Istraživanje je provedeno u cilju dobivanja uvida u život mladih u statusu beskućnika kroz osobni doživljaj uzroka beskućništva i podrške potrebne za izlazak iz beskućništva. Provedeno je kvalitativno istraživanje sa 6 mladih osoba u dobi od 15 do 29 godina u statusu beskućnika koji borave u prihvatilištu Velika Kosnica. Podaci su prikupljeni polustrukturiranim intervjuom i grupirani u sljedeće teme: iskustva mladih tijekom odrastanja, uzroci beskućništva mladih, izvori socijalne podrške i potrebe mladih za izlazak iz beskućništva. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su da su mladi beskućnici osobe s iskustvom boravka u alternativnoj skrbi, uglavnom završenim trogodišnjim strukovnim srednjoškolskim obrazovanjem, a kao glavni čimbenici za ulazak u beskućništvo pokazali su se izlazak mladih iz skrbi, narušeni obiteljski odnosi, problemi mentalnog zdravlja i nezaposlenost. Istraživanje je pokazalo da se mladi beskućnici uglavnom oslanjaju na formalne oblike podrške te iskazuju želju za izlaskom iz beskućništva i osamostaljenjem, pri čemu navode da im je u tome potrebna praktična pomoć i ostvarivanje prava iz sustava socijalne skrbi, profesionalna podrška i osnaživanje te emocionalna podrška značajnih drugih. Rezultati ovog istraživanja ukazuju na potrebu za pružanjem ciljane, sustavne podrške kako bi ova skupina mladih mogla lakše prevladati nepovoljne okolnosti koje prate njihov životni put.

Abstract (english)

The aim of this study was to gain insight into the lives of homeless youth through personal experience of pathways to homelessness and the support needed to exit homelessness. A qualitative research was conducted with 6 young people aged 15 to 29 who are homeless and staying in the shelter Velika Kosnica. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview and grouped into the following topics: youth experiences during childhood, pathway to homelessness, sources of social support and youth needs to exit homelessness. The results of the research showed that homeless youth are people that experienced living in care, mostly completed three years of vocational secondary education, and the main reasons for homelessness were going out of care, disturbed family relationships, mental health problems and unemployment. The research showed that homeless youth mostly rely on formal forms of support and express a desire to exit homelessness and desire for independence, stating that they need practical help and realization of rights from the social welfare system, professional support and empowerment and emotional support of significant others. The results of this research indicate the need to provide targeted, systematic support so that this group of young people can more easily overcome the adverse circumstances that accompany their life path.
