Abstract

U ovom radu razmatra se siromaštvo i strategije borbe protiv siromaštva na europskoj i nacionalnoj razini. Nakon uvodnog izlaganja, definira se siromaštvo i oblici siromaštva. Drugi dio rada odnosi se na politiku reduciranja siromaštva te se izlaže na čemu se ona temelji. U daljnjem je tekstu pozornost pridana nekim europskim strategijama borbe protiv siromaštva; Milenijskim ciljevima razvoja i Europi 2020, te se prikazuje kako ih je Hrvatska provela. Glavna područja djelovanja su poticanje gospodarskog rasta, stvaranje većih mogućnosti zapošljavanja, poboljšanje ljudskog kapitala, učinkovit sustav socijalne skrbi i dobro usmjeravanje naknada skupinama koje trebaju pomoć, decentralizacija i razvoj institucija. Zadnji dio rada opisuje novi program održivosti razvoja 2030. koji kreće u 2021. godini. Rad završava zaključnim razmatranjima.

Abstract (english)

This thesis considers poverty and strategies for fighting poverty both at the EU and national level. After an introductory account, poverty and types of poverty are defined. The next chapter refers to the policy to reduce poverty and what is policy based on. In the sequel, attention is devoted to some European strategies for combating poverty such as Millennium Development Goals and Europe 2020, and it is shown how Croatia conducted these strategies. Main areas of activity are the encouragement of economic growth, the creation of greater opportunities for employment, the enhancement of human capital, an effective welfare system and good orientation of targeting benefits to groups that need assistance, decentralization and the development of institutions. The last part of thesis presents The new Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 which is set to begin in 2021. The paper concludes with some final considerations.
