Abstract

Igranje multiplayer igrica na internetu danas je izuzetno zastupljeno kod mladih te igranja igrica ima veliku popularnost. Ovim istraživanjem željelo se ispitati postojanje povezanosti igranja multiplayer igrica na internetu i internaliziranih problema kod adolescenata. Istraživanje je provedeno s učenicima drugih razreda srednjih škola. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 104 učenika, a korišten je prigodni uzorak. Prvim problemom ispitivalo se postoji li povezanost između anksioznosti i igranja multiplayer igrica na internetu, a postavljena hipoteza bila je da će veća izraženost problematičnog igranja multiplayer igrica na internetu biti povezana s većom anksioznošću. Sljedećim problemom ispitivala se povezanost između depresivnosti i igranja multiplayer igrica na internetu. Hipoteza za taj problem bila je da će češće igranje multiplayer igrica na internetu biti povezano s većom depresivnošću. Unatoč tome što hipoteze nisu potvrđene, istraživanje predstavlja dobru podlogu za struku socijalnog rada kojom se želi doprijeti do mladih i pomoći im ako se suočavaju sa životnim problemima koji se tiču anksioznosti i depresivnosti, pa i igranja igrica, koje u ekstremnim slučajevima mogu stvarati i ovisnost.

Abstract (english)

Playing multiplayer online games is extremely popular with young people today. This research aimed to examine the relation between playing multiplayer games online and internalising problems among adolescents. Research was conducted with a convenience sample of second grade pupils in high schools and 104 students participated. The first problem was examining the correlation between anxiety and playing multiplayer games online and the hypothesis presumed that more playing multiplayer online games was positively correlated with higher anxiety level. The next problem was examining the correlation between depression and playing multiplayer games online. The hypothesis presumed that more playing multiplayer games online was correlated with a higher level of depression. Despite the fact that the hypotheses have not been confirmed, this research is a good platform for the social work profession that seeks to reach to young people and help them deal with personal issues, such as anxiety and depression, as well as addictive gameplay.
