Abstract

Obzirom na sve veći razvoj, a i dostupnost novih tehnologija i interneta, pred roditelje se postavlja izazov kako zaštiti djecu u ovom području punom i pozitivnih i negativnih mogućnosti. Stoga, cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati razlike u stupnju roditeljske kontrole nad dječjim korištenjem internetom s obzirom na određena sociodemografska obilježja roditelja, dob, spol te stupanj obrazovanja, kao i obzirom na obilježja djeteta, dob i spol djeteta, te povezanost između roditeljske kontrole i roditeljske topline prilikom dječjeg korištenja internetom. Uzorak se sastojao od 197 roditelja učenika drugih i sedmih razreda na području triju škola u Republici Hrvatskoj; Zagrebu, Donjem Miholjcu te Stobreču. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su kako postoji statistički značajna razlika u stupnju roditeljske kontrole s obzirom na dob roditelja, dok razlika prema spolu i stupnju obrazovanja roditelja nije potvrđena. Također, pokazalo se kako postoji statistički značajna razlika u stupnju roditeljske kontrole s obzirom na dob djeteta, a prema spolu ta razlika nije statistički značajna. Kao odgovor na treći istraživački problem utvrđeno je kako postoji povezanost između stupnja roditeljske kontrole i topline nad dječjim korištenjem interneta.

Abstract (english)

In the view of the growing development and availability of new technologies and the Internet, parents face the challenge of protecting children in this area, both positive and negative. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the differences in the parental control level over children internet usage, considering certain sociodemographic characteristics of parents, age, gender and level of education, as well as the characteristics of the child, age and gender of the child, and the relationship between parental control and parental warmth when children´s use of Internet. The sample consisted of 197 parents of students attending second and seventh grade in three schools in the Republic of Croatia; Zagreb, Donji Miholjac and Stobrec. The results showed a statistically significant difference in the level of parental control considering age of parents, while differences according to gender and educational level is not confirmed. Also, there was a statistically significant difference in the level of parental control with regard to the age of the child, and by gender this difference was not statistically significant. In response to the third research problem was found that there is a correlation between the degree of parental control and warmth of children usage of the Internet.
