Abstract

Alzheimerova demencija je teška, progresivna i za sada neizlječiva bolest, koja se
manifestira kroz gubitak kognitivnih i emocionalnih sposobnosti, gubitka pamćenja
te nemogućnosti samostalnog življenja što zahtijeva cjelodnevnu skrb o oboljeloj
osobi. Rani znakovi bolesti: razdražljivost, gubitak koncentracije, zaboravljanje
imena i dr. Ova bolest ne utječe samo na fizički i intelektualni aspekt oboljele osobe
nego na njezin cjelokupni život. Zbog toga je važno uključiti multidisciplinarni tim u
rješavanje i poboljšanje uvjeta skrbi oboljelih osoba ali i njihovih skrbnika. Uloga
socijalnih radnika u skrbi za oboljele osobe uključuje pružanje podržavajućih,
terapeutskih i edukativnih usluga osobama oboljelima od demencije, članovima
njihovih obitelji i osobama koje skrbe za oboljele.

Abstract (english)

Alzheimer's is a difficult, progressive, and now-incurable disease that manifests itself
through the loss of cognitive and emotional abilities, loss of memory, and inability to
live independently, which requires every day care of the affected person. Early signs
of the disease: irritability, loss of concentration, forgetfulness of names etc. This
disease affects not only the physical and intellectual aspect of the affected person but
its entire life. It is therefore important to include a multidisciplinary team in solving
and improving the conditions of care for the affected persons and their caregivers.
The role of social workers in caring for the disabled includes providing supportive,
therapeutic and educational services to people with dementia, their family members
and people who take's care for the affected persons.
