Abstract

Kako stanovništvo sve više stari, tako se povećava i potreba za brigom o starijim osobama. Iako postoje određene izvaninstitucionalne usluge, još uvijek je u našem društvu odlazak u dom za starije najrasprostranjenija socijalna usluga namijenjena starijim osobama. Koje teškoće osobe starije životne dobi doživljavaju u procesu prilagodbe na život u domu te što osobe starije životne dobi doživljavaju kao pomažuće u prilagodbi na život u domu pitanja su koja je potrebno analizirati upravo iz perspektive osobe koja je korisnik određenog doma. Navedene činjenice motiv su nastanka diplomskog rada pod naslovom Proces prilagodbe na život u domu za starije: perspektiva korisnika Doma Konavle.
Kroz kvalitativno istraživanje u ovom radu dolazi se do rezultata koji prikazuju koji su sve razlozi za donošenje odluke o smještaju u dom za starije. Nadalje, dobiveni su rezultati koji pokazuju koje teškoće osobe starije životne dobi doživljavaju u procesu prilagodbe na život u domu, a to su: psihološke i fiziološke promjene te raznovrsnost sadržaja za slobodno vrijeme koja ne udovoljava potrebama svih korisnika u potpunosti. Isto tako, emocionalno rasterećenje, sigurnost i uslužnost, održavanje socijalnih aktivnosti te zadovoljstvo uslugama prehrane rezultati čimbenici su koje osobe starije životne dobi doživljavaju kao pomažuće u prilagodbi na život u domu.
Rezultati dovode do zaključka kako u radu s ovom populacijom treba staviti naglasak na unaprjeđivanje njihove subjektivne dobrobiti kroz različite aktivnosti te kontinuiranu podršku i osnaživanje u procesu prilagodbe na život u domu.

Abstract (english)

Since population is getting older, so is the need to care for the elderly. Although there are certain non-institutional services, but it is still in our society to go to the home for the elderly most widespread social service intended for the elderly. Which difficulties older people experience in the process of adapting to life in the nursing home and what older people experience as helping to adapt to life at nursing home are issues that need to be looked from the perspective of a person who is a nursing home user. These facts has inspired us to write the following graduation thesis "The process of adaptation to life in the home for the elderly: the perspective of the users of the Nursing home of Konavle.
Through qualitative research in this paper, there are results that indicate which are the reasons for making a decision about accommodation in a home for the elderly. Furthermore, results are showing the difficulties experienced by older persons in the process of adaptation to life at nursing home, namely: psychological and physiological changes and diversity of leisure content that does not fully meet the needs of all users. Likewise, emotional relieving, safety and usability, maintaining social activities, and satisfaction with eating services are factors that older people experience as a helping hand in adapting to life in the nursing home.
The results lead to the conclusion that work with this population should focus on improving their subjective well-being through various activities and continuous support and empowerment in the process of adaptation to life in the home
